Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Welcome to Curatones. These terms explain how the platform works for visitors and collectors, and what we expect from you. Artists and curators agree to their own specific terms inside their account when they join in that role. Sell your art, Become a curator
1. About Curatones
Curatones is an online platform and marketplace where artists list original artworks, curators gather them into collections called Salons, and collectors buy them and invest into this ecosystem. Curatones is not the author or owner of the artworks listed: it provides the platform, handles payments and organises shipping.
These terms apply to everyone who uses Curatones as a visitor, member or collector. By creating an account or using Curatones you agree to them. Artists and curators agree to their own separate terms inside their account when they join in that role.
2. Your account
The information you give us must be accurate. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for what happens under your account. Curatones is free to join: there are no sign-up or monthly fees.
3. Reserving and buying
You can reserve an artwork through its Salon. A reserved work is held for you while we prepare a quote that includes shipping, and nothing is charged before you receive and accept it. A purchase is made when you pay the invoice we send you through Stripe. Each artwork is one of a kind (or part of a limited edition), so a work can only be sold once, and a reservation does not guarantee a sale.
Prices are shown in euros. Shipping is handled by Curatones, priced upon inquiry and paid by the collector. Artworks are usually shipped by the artist within 5 business days, and the estimated arrival date appears on your shipping quote.
4. Prices and payment
The price shown for an artwork is the price you pay, in euros, with shipping quoted separately. There are no hidden fees.
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Curatones is not responsible for delays or restrictions applied by Stripe or by your bank.
5. Returns and right of withdrawal
You may return an artwork within 14 days of receiving it. Email contact@curatones.com to arrange the return, and pack and send the work back in its original condition.
Once the returned work reaches us in its original condition, we refund the price you paid for it.
6. Resale royalty
If you later resell, through Curatones, a work you bought here, the original artist receives a 5% royalty on the resale price, for the lifetime of the work. This is designed to protect and reward artists.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Curatones to break the law, to upload content you have no right to share, to impersonate others, to harass anyone, to interfere with the platform's operation, or to bypass the platform on a sale that began on Curatones. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
8. Our content and platform
The Curatones name, logo, design and software belong to Curatones. You may not copy or reuse them without our written permission. Artworks and Salons remain the property of their creators: buying an artwork does not transfer its copyright, and you may not reproduce it without the artist's permission.
9. Liability
We work to keep Curatones available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, Curatones is not liable for indirect losses, or for disputes between members beyond helping to resolve them. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumers have by law, or liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Your data
How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these terms as Curatones grows. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will tell you about significant changes. By continuing to use Curatones after a change you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by French law. If a dispute cannot be settled amicably, it will be brought before the competent French courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence. Questions? Write to contact@curatones.com.
